Poseidon Coastal Highway.......

A Sunday drive down to the seaside suburb of Varkiza

is especially delightful if traffic is light !

Poseidon Coastal Highway is an especially nice road to 

travel on as for the majority of its length the roadway

hugs the seaside and the views are 

beautiful and in several spots "unique". 

Here we are still in the city portion of the PCH.

Much of the newer transport infrastructure
is in the form of below ground roadways
and rail lines, subways/metro and the like.
Due to the topography of the city being encircled by a ring of mountains....roadways are being tunneled
through the hills and mountains and
in densely populated areas.
The ongoing roadways and metro lines
that are being built will make traveling times for
both locals and travelers alike more efficient.
A good portion of the new projects are working
in conjunction of one another and you see roadways
with urban rail in the center median
and giving the option of park and ride
commuting to those who reside in the outer suburbs.
