The palm beaches of southern Greece are some of the biggest attractions for beach goers. Vai is one of most heard of of the beaches as it features the largest natural palm tree forest in all of Europe which is made up of the Cretan Date Palm. Tourists have been going to Vai for half a century in search a natural carefree place to be. Soon the area was to be enclosed and was declared by the federal government as a protected area. Today it is a delightful, preserved beach which is visited by thousands annually!
